I was checking my server and found I am receiving many returned e-mails from MAILER-DAEMON at aol.com.

Apparently, some one was using a non-existing fake e-mail address under my domain to send out spams.

今日、サーバーをチェックしていたら、aol.com下のMAILER-DAEMONから大量の配信エラーメールが送られてきている事に気がつきました。

明らかに誰かが私のドメイン下の存在しない偽造メールアドレスを使ってSPAMを送ろうとしていたようです。

Actually, this is not the first time.

But it always seem to happen when I am too busy to do any thing; so even though I had the chance to blog about it before, I haven't mentioned them on my blog.

It doesn't necessary mean I am not busy at the moment (editors, don't worry, I am writing ;-). But this time I felt that I shouldn't let them go easily.

But I just don't know what to do with them (and am just too busy to do that research right now). And so I am asking for your advice here.

もっとも、これは今回が初めてではありません。

いつも私が忙しくてしょうがないときにおこるようです。だから、これまでもBLOGでそれについて語る機会はあったのですが、特にとりあげませんでした。

別に今が忙しくないという訳ではないのですが（編集者の方々、ちゃんと書いています ;-) )。ただ今回も見逃してしまうわけにはいかないだろう、と感じました。

でも、何をしたらよいかわかりません（それにそれを調査するにはちょっと忙しすぎます）。そこで何かアドバイスが得られればと思い記事にしました。

FYI., the headers of these mails show that they are handed from a localhost address (private IP address) directly to one of the mail servers at AOL (I am not revealing that server name to prevent further spams). It looks like this:

From localhost (localhost) by xxxxx.xx.aol.com (8.8.8/8.8.8/AOL-5.0.0)with internal id xxxxxxx; Fri, 28 Nov 2003 23:10:45 -0500 (EST)

ちなみに返信メールのヘッダーをみると、メールはlocalhostアドレス（プライベートのIPアドレス）から直接、AOLのサーバーの１つに送られているようで、上記のような内容になっています（これ以上、SPAMを増やさないようにサーバーのアドレスは伏せております）。

And the targets of these spams seem to be random addresses within the AOL.com domain.

If you have any advice for me (or some proposals of better things in life to do for the spammers), please comment to this article.

I am betting that if you count each spam mails and/or the other e-mails that are caused by the spammer as an item, spam would be one of the largest export of the United States today. We need a more reliable technology to send/receive e-mails but at the same time I believe the United States need stronger restriction for conducting these kind of acts.

一通、一通のSPAMや私が受け取ったようなSPAMがらみのメールを１項目として数えたとしたら、アメリカ合衆国の今日における最大の輸出物の１つはSPAMなんではないでしょうか？メールの送受信技術をもっと信頼できるものに変えていく必要もあると思いますが、アメリカ政府の方でもこうした行いについてもう少ししっかりとした規制をした方がいいと思います。
